The Northern Region’s representative in this year’s Ghana Most Beautiful (GMB), Zuzu Abdul Wahab, says that fistula cases in the Northern Region is her motivation for chasing the GMB crown. Fistula is an abnormal or surgically made passage between a hollow or tubular organ and the body surface, or between two hollow or tubular organs. Fistulas can cause a lot of discomfort, and if left untreated, may cause serious complications. She says that as much as the crown and the car serve as a motivation, she is highly moved by the desire to use the platform to help solve problems with women in her community. “Obstetric fistula is an enemy for women in my region. I want to tackle this problem. At the end of the day, they become outcast in society. GMB is an opportunity for me to stand in the gap for many of our mothers,” she said. She also stated that a win for her would be crucial in her quest to increase the level of education in her region. “If I win GMB, I would have a bigger platform to talk to stakeholders who would help me solve the education problem in my region.” The Star Performer and Most Innovative on two different occasions, Zuzu is in the race to be crowned Ghana’s Most Beautiful on Sunday.
