Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested six suspects in connection with a series of robbery and gang rape incidents in Juaso, following an intelligence-led operation, the Ghana Police Service has said.
The suspects were identified as David Adusah, also known as Vibes; Samuel Amantor, known as Road; Andrew Odei, alias Salinco; Sharif Mohammed, also called Isco; Joseph Addo, known as Moves; and Chidi Arinze, who goes by the name Orga Happiness. They were arrested on 8 January 2026 by the Ashanti South Regional Police Command.
According to police, the suspects are believed to be members of a criminal syndicate operating in and around Juaso, allegedly responsible for multiple robbery attacks and the sexual assault of victims. Searches conducted at the suspects’ residences led to the retrieval of 49 mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, a green dress resembling a military uniform, and a photograph showing an alleged leader of the group dressed in military-style camouflage.

Police also impounded a Toyota RAV4 vehicle, which investigators believe was used by the suspects during their operations. The items, authorities said, are assisting ongoing investigations into the activities of the group.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted to their involvement in the alleged crimes. Police stressed, however, that investigations are continuing to establish the full extent of their activities and whether additional accomplices were involved.
On 12 January 2026, the suspects were arraigned before a court and remanded into lawful custody. They are expected to reappear on 28 January 2026 to allow police additional time to complete investigations and prepare their case.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to combating violent crime and protecting residents from organised criminal activity. In a statement, police assured the public that all persons found culpable would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and to cooperate with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities, as police intensify efforts to dismantle criminal networks operating within the region.
