Ispace Foundation over the weekend witnessed ten ladies pitch to investors in its “Unlocking Women and Technology project” at its Labone premises.

The Unlocking women and Technology project which has become a trademark of Ispace, a technology hub, teaches ladies how to code and develop websites, apps etc. in order to enhance and facilitate their entrepreneurial activities.

The 2nd batch of ladies for the project made a presentation each of not more than 10 minutes to investors who had gathered at offices of Ispace. The judges for the program who doubled as investors sought to find out how the ladies used technology to conduct business and how they could invest in it to help achieve the mission and vision of their respective companies.

Speaking to 3FM 92.7 after the pitch, the founder of Ispace Foundation , Josiah Eyison stated that Ispace is committed to ensuring that all the ladies including those who don’t win are still given the support they need to ensure their businesses succeed. He also argued that, though the competition will see winners going home with an amount of 5000 cedis each to boost their businesses, everyone will win something which would come in the form of mentorship and the skills they have achieved so far.

Answering questions about Ispace and the training given to the ladies, Mr. Eyison stated that “ Ispace is the only locally owned Technology hub which is committed to ensuring that entrepreneurs, especially tech-start-ups use technology to promote their businesses and are giving the space to conceive ideas and nurture them to become successful businesses. These ladies have been given all the lessons in the world of tech and it will surprise you what they are using these tech skills of website developments etc. to do for their businesses”.

Winners of the pitch will be announced in some weeks to come after all 33 ladies who have been spread over the course of three weeks to pitch to investors have gone through the process. The Unlocking women and technology according to organisers has come to stay and therefore urged other investors and women entrepreneurs to call on ispace in helping them empower ladies and offer unique technological skills for their human development.
