Life has a way of teaching its hardest lessons quietly. There is a saying that when a blind man finally sees, he throws away the stick that once guided him. Too often, people forget those who stood by them when they had nothing. When that happens, bitterness is understandable, but wisdom is the better response.
Kindness is a virtue, yet it must be guided by discernment. Not everyone will help you the way you help them, nor will everyone remember your generosity. Sometimes we suffer not because we did wrong, but because we did not know when to stop being good to those who kept hurting us.
Learning to set boundaries is not cruelty; it is self-respect. Kindness without wisdom can be exhausting, and assuming everyone thinks or feels as we do is a costly mistake. People are built differently, with different hearts and minds.
Empathy matters, but it should not blind us to reality. Be kind to everyone who crosses your path, but do so without expectation. True peace comes from giving freely, while protecting your own well-being.
Peace be unto thee
