Despite earlier reports concerning Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s health, President John Dramani Mahama, has assured the public that she is recuperating and doing very well.
The President provided the update yesterday, Thursday, April 24, 2025, during the official launch of the nationwide distribution of sanitary pads to over two million girls.
President Mahama, extended warm regards on behalf of the Vice President, who was notably absent from the event.
“I wish to extend the greetings of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to all of you. I spoke to her yesterday, and I told her we were going to miss her at this event because this is a programme that is very dear to her.
She said, I should say hello to all of you and to let you know she is recuperating and getting some rest. She is very well, and will soon join us to continue prosecuting the Reset Agenda.”
A statement issued by the Presidential Communications Directorate on Sunday, March 30, 2025, confirmed that the Vice President, had received care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) and was in a stable condition.
The statement, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu (MP), Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications, further indicated that, on the advice of medical experts, the Vice President would undergo further treatment abroad.
