President John Dramani Mahama has constituted a Presidential Advisory Group on Economy (PAGE) to be chaired by himself.
The Group is to sustain government’s resolve to restoring macroeconomic stability, strengthen fiscal sustainability, and accelerate inclusive and job-rich economic growth anchored on the 24-hour Economy Policy.
According to a release issued by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the establishment of PAGE reflects President Mahama’s resolve to draw on deep national and international expertise to support sound economic governance, strategic policy coordination and evidence-based decision-making to navigate current economic challenges and position the country for sustained growth and resilience.
The Group shall serve as a high-level advisory body to the President, Mr Kwaky Ofosu insisted.
It shall also be responsible for providing independent, non-partisan, and strategic economic advice, he added.
The members are Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, former PAGE members Ishmael Yamson, Kwame Pianim and Nana Oye Mansa Yeboaa.
The others are Dr Kwabena Duffour, Sir Sam Jonah, Ato Brown, former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr Henry Wampah and Togbe Afede XIV.
The rest are Ghana Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer Abena Amoah and Professors Priscilla Twumasi Baffour and Patience Aseweh Abor.
