The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has inaugurated the Marine Drive Board of Directors, demanding urgency, accountability and tangible results to reset the flagship tourism development.
At the ceremony, the minister said the Marine Drive project must return to a disciplined, results-driven trajectory anchored on transparency, value for money and the national interest. She stressed that delays and inefficiencies would no longer be tolerated, urging the board to act decisively to restore confidence in the project.
The five-member board is chaired by Hon. Yussif Issaka Jajah and includes Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority; Prof. Kobby Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Development Company; and Mr. Divine Owusu-Ansah, Director for Culture and Creative Arts at the ministry. A private sector representative also serves on the board, with the Chief Director of the ministry acting as an ex-officio member.
Hon. Gomashie reaffirmed the ministry’s role as the policy anchor for the project and charged board members to work collaboratively to deliver a legacy initiative that benefits the wider economy. She noted that Marine Drive is expected to stimulate job creation, attract private investment and strengthen Ghana’s coastal tourism offering.

The minister expressed confidence that, under firm leadership and clear accountability, the reconstituted board could reposition Marine Drive as a cornerstone of Ghana’s tourism and creative economy.
