The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has marked Ghana Chocolate Day by promoting locally produced chocolate on the floor of Parliament of Ghana, urging citizens to support the domestic cocoa industry.

Addressing lawmakers, the minister highlighted the economic, cultural and employment benefits of consuming Made-in-Ghana chocolate, stressing that increased local patronage would strengthen value addition within the country’s cocoa sector. She said intentional support for locally manufactured products would help sustain farmers’ livelihoods, empower women and young entrepreneurs, and ensure more revenue remains in the national economy.

To reinforce her message, Gomashie distributed locally produced chocolate to Members of Parliament and parliamentary staff, describing the gesture as a symbolic effort to deepen awareness of the country’s globally recognised cocoa heritage.
Ghana Chocolate Day is a national initiative designed to boost domestic chocolate consumption, promote pride in Ghana’s cocoa legacy and encourage investment in local processing industries to drive sustainable economic growth.
