The Minority in Parliament has served notice of boycotting the official visit of the Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, to the legislative assembly.
According to the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the Chief Justice acted in bad faith by leaving his members to attacks from all and sundry when they decided not to be involved in his vetting.
“We in the Minority don’t see him as a tolerant head of the judiciary,” Mr Afenyo-Markin said at a press conference on Monday, January 26.
The presser at the DF Annan Auditorium in Parliament is to hold the government accountable after a year in office.
The Minority Leader observed that the Chief Justice seems to be on a visiting spree to some ministries and state institutions.
“Is my Lord, Baffoe-Bonnie, on a Thank You tour?” the Effutu Member of Parliament (MP) wondered, insinuating that the Chief Justice is on a tour to thank his appointor.
Mr Afenyo, therefore, stressed that with the Chief Justice scheduled to be in Parliament, his caucus will not be part.
“If he wants to engage us, our offices are open, he can come and engage us.”
