The jail-bound Evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has been ordered by an Accra Circuit Court to reappear on July 30, 2025, in connection with a separate case unrelated to her recent 15-year prison sentence.
The court directed her to open her defence on charges involving the alleged non-consensual sharing of intimate images.
The court has mandated her to present her defense against charges concerning the alleged non-consensual distribution of intimate images.
This case was initiated by preacher Prophet Appiah, also known as Osofo Biblical, who has accused Agradaa of unlawfully broadcasting a video depicting him in a sexual encounter with a married woman.
The video was reportedly aired on her now-defunct Thunder TV station during her tenure as a self-proclaimed fetish priestess.
As per the complainant, the footage was displayed without his consent, constituting a breach of his privacy and dignity. He further claimed that he was physically assaulted by individuals connected to Agradaa during that time.
The court has decreed that Agradaa be transported from the Nsawam Female Prison—where she is currently serving a 15-year sentence for fraud—to attend a final ruling in the ongoing case.
Following the proceedings, her legal representative confirmed the July 30 date and revealed intentions to appeal her recent conviction and sentence.
This recent development contributes to Agradaa’s increasing legal challenges, with two significant cases currently pending in the courts.
Agradaa’s legal team to appeal 15-year jail
Nana Agradaa, legal team have filed a notice of appeal challenging the Circuit Court’s decision that sentenced her to 15 years in prison.
According to the team, Agradaa’s conviction by Justice Evelyn Asamoah on July 3, on the charges of defrauding by false pretence and charlatanic advertisement was unjust and that their client was denied a fair trial.
Speaking on some electronic media on July 7, lead counsel Richard Asare Baffour disclosed that the High Court has been petitioned to overturn both the conviction and the sentence.
“We filed the petition of appeal this morning because the judgment delivered by the court is so unreasonable, and the evidence on record does not support it.
“We have also stated that the trial as a whole is wrong in law, and we are saying that the judge demonstrated and manifest bias by harassing and intimidating the accused,” he said.
Asare Baffour further revealed that his team intends to file a bail application in the coming days to secure Nana Agradaa’s temporary release as the appeal process unfolds.
