The Manhyia Palace has announced Sunday, November 30 and Monday, December 1 as dates to host a concluding session of Asantehene’s mediation of the Bawku chieftaincy conflict.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has led mediation efforts to find a lasting peace in the Upper East Region town.
Long-standing chieftaincy disputes have led to loss of lives and properties running into millions of Cedis damaged.
The Asantehene, however, praised both sides for a “positive” approach to the process so far.
He also appealed to all concerned to avoid any actions likely to affect the progress towards a lasting solution to the Bawku conflict.
Otumfuo has the record of chairing a committee of eminent chiefs who mediated the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis.
