Parliament, the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs and the Parliamentary Centre have jointly held a national dialogue aimed at advancing gender-responsive lawmaking and improving collaboration between lawmakers, civil society and citizens.
The event, themed “Parliament, CSO, Citizen Collaboration on Gender Responsive Lawmaking: Experiences and Pathways from Ghana, Kenya, and Togo,” brought together legislators, experts and advocacy groups to share regional best practices and strengthen inclusive governance.
Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei said the Inclusive Legislatures for Gender Responsive Policies initiative is expected to deepen cooperation between Members of Parliament and civil society organizations working in health, education, social protection and women’s economic empowerment. She stressed that building stronger partnerships will help Parliament craft laws that better reflect the needs of women and vulnerable groups.
