Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested a man identified as Prince Agyapong for his alleged role in a violent robbery at the Juaso District Forestry Services Division on Monday, December 1, 2025.
According to police, preliminary investigations show that about 30 men armed with knives and other weapons stormed the Forestry office while the Forestry Rapid Response Team was away on monitoring duties. The attackers, believed to have been led by Agyapong, forced staff to surrender their mobile phones before ransacking multiple offices.
The group allegedly made away with two chainsaw machines, a tricycle, two KIA trucks, and GH₵9,000 belonging to an employee. Police quickly launched a pursuit, leading to the arrest of Agyapong and the recovery of the two KIA trucks, which were transported to the Juaso District Police Headquarters for further investigation. His accomplices escaped and remain at large.

Agyapong was arraigned before the Agogo District Court on a provisional charge of robbery and has been remanded into police custody. He is expected to reappear on December 15, 2025.
Police say efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects and recover the outstanding stolen items. Authorities are urging the public to provide any relevant information that could support ongoing investigations.
