Police in Ghana have arrested a man seen in a viral video discharging a firearm at a public event at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra, authorities said on Tuesday.
In a statement dated 30 December 2025, the Ghana Police Service said the suspect was identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg.” He was arrested on 29 December at Adenta by the Cyber Vetting Team of the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters.
Police said the incident occurred on 28 December 2025, when the suspect was captured on video firing a weapon during a public gathering at the stadium. The firearm involved, a Derya MK-12 with registration number 22-GHA-1162, has been retrieved and secured as evidence.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations and is expected to be put before a court to face charges in accordance with the law.
The police used the occasion to caution the public that possession of a registered firearm does not grant the right to discharge it indiscriminately. Authorities warned that firearms licences can be revoked and offenders prosecuted.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department.
