Police have arrested ten suspects linked to a viral video showing two young women being assaulted in Wassa Dawurampong after they were accused of stealing money from a gold buying shop, the Western Central Regional Command announced Wednesday.
The arrests were carried out by the IGP’s Special Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team in collaboration with regional officers, following widespread outrage over the footage, which showed the victims being beaten and cut with a razor blade.
Police identified three prime suspects — Eric Donkor (32), popularly known as Killer Block; Yaw Gyimah (29); and Edmond Nartey (24) — as men seen physically abusing the women, including inflicting scalp injuries with a sharp blade.
Another suspect, identified only as Tawiah, alias Awaga, who was captured cutting one victim’s scalp, remains on the run.
Seven additional suspects, Stephen Amu (24), Farouk Balas (18), Mensah Bernard (18), Adu Baggeo (23), Bismark Nyarko (30), Akwesi Poku George (18) and Oteng Alfred (23) were arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the attack.

Police say all ten suspects will undergo screening, after which the main perpetrators will be arraigned. Investigators have also begun efforts to locate the victims to ensure they receive medical care and psychosocial support.
The Police Administration said it is committed to securing the victims’ well-being and ensuring accountability for all involved.
The Western Central Regional Command warned the public against meting out instant justice, stressing that any person arrested for an offence must be handed over to authorities for due legal process.
Regional Commander D.O. Boampong signed the statement, reiterating the service’s stance that acts of mob violence will not be tolerated.
