Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo known popularly as Sarkodie has explained that his latest song, Happy Day, which has been widely purported to be a campaign song for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is not about any party in particular.
Earlier Monday, the celebrated Ghanaian rapper was in the trends after he released his new song.
The song which featured reigning Ghanaian Artiste of the Year, Kwame Eugene has sparked conversations on social media.
In one verse, the rapper is heard asking the President of the Republic to continue his good works, a line that has been interpreted as an endorsement of Akufo-Addo’s administration.
Believed to be an endorsement from the Tema-based artiste, the President took to twitter to show his appreciation for the musicians.
The president in his tweet said “nice song @Sarkodie. Indeed, the battle is the Lord’s.

In a proverbial response, the said “Nana M3nfa bronya ho nre akoko oo lool !! 🙏🏾 when I say aban (all parties) Shouts to yourself x JM but if i feel like pointing out the negatives too you know how we do”.
According to the rapper, the song is about all the political parties, especially, the president and the leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.
He hinted he may be dropping a new song which will focus on the negative sides of the parties.
As Ghana’s election nears many celebrities have taken to publicly endorsing political parties. Artistes like Samini have all shown their public support for the president and his party.
