Interior Minister Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has announced a full digitisation of recruitment processes for the Prisons, Immigration, Police and Fire Service in an effort to eliminate queues and prevent further tragedies during national enlistment.
He said the new system will introduce a centralised online portal that allows applicants to complete the entire process remotely, using a secure code to be released on Sunday, November 16.
“Our hope is to have a seamless process. Everything will move from paper to paperless,” he said, adding that the e-recruitment platform will ensure uniform standards across the agencies.
The move follows the recent stampede at the El-Wak Sports Stadium, which left six people dead and several others injured, with an additional incident in Kumasi resulting in further casualties.
The Minister said the digital transition is expected to reduce congestion, enhance safety and improve efficiency in future recruitment exercises.
