Nkwatia-based St Peter’s Senior High School on Saturday beat fellow Catholics Pope John Senior High and Minor Seminary, Presbyterian SHS-Osino and Oti Boateng SHS to emerge Eastern Region champions of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz.
The three-time national champions amassed a total of 40 points in the final held at Oyoko Methodist SHS to become winners.
First runners-up Pojoba got a total of 24 points while second runners-up Presby SHS-Osino got 18 points. Oti Boateng SHS got 16 points.
For emerging winners, Persco received a cheque for GH¢4,000 and souvenirs from sponsors.
Pojoba received GH¢3,000 while Osino-PRESEC got GH¢ 2,000. Oti Boateng SHS got GH¢1,000.
All the finalists have made it to the national championships to be held at the University of Ghana in June.
The train next moves to Ho, where the Volta-Oti Zonal championships will be held from Wednesday, March 18-19.
