Senior officials of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) and YILPORT Holdings have met President John Dramani Mahama as part of ongoing strategic discussions on the future development of the Port of Takoradi, the Authority said.
The high-level meeting followed earlier engagements and brought together YILPORT’s leadership, the GPHA Board Chairman, the Director-General and the Minister for Transport. Discussions focused on enhancing the port’s competitiveness and positioning it as a key hub within Ghana’s evolving maritime and logistics sector.

Also in attendance were the Board Chairmen of the Ghana Maritime Authority and the Ghana Railway Authority, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority, and a representative of Bluestone Consulting Group.
Officials said the broad participation underscored a coordinated, multi-agency approach aimed at strengthening Ghana’s transport and logistics ecosystem. The talks form part of wider efforts to improve infrastructure integration, operational efficiency and long-term investment at the Port of Takoradi, which plays a critical role in supporting trade, industry and regional connectivity.
