The Energy Commission has taken a decisive step to reinforce energy sector oversight with a visit to Tema Port by its Executive Secretary, Ing. Eunice A. Biritwum. The initiative underscores Ghana’s commitment to energy security, transparency, and operational efficiency at one of the nation’s most strategic ports.
During the visit, Ing. Biritwum engaged frontline officials, including inspectors, customs officers, and port authorities, fostering stronger coordination in monitoring energy-related imports and exports. The engagement also aimed to identify challenges faced by port officials, allowing for streamlined procedures, reduced bottlenecks, and improved service delivery. By working closely with stakeholders, the Commission seeks to safeguard national energy infrastructure, supporting reliable and sustainable supply chains.
Capacity building formed a key part of the visit, with training and guidance provided to inspectors and customs officers to strengthen enforcement of energy regulations.
The initiative reflects the Energy Commission’s broader commitment to proactive governance, institutional collaboration, and consumer protection. By ensuring adherence to standards and fostering effective partnerships, the Commission positions Ghana’s energy sector for sustainable growth while enhancing accountability and transparency.
