Ghanaian rapper Vincent Kwaku Osei, known in the music circles as Strongman has said he is no more focused on the premium award, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Having lost the award despite being nominated in the best rapper category for five consecutive years, Strongman noted that he now has a different priority and not enthused too much about the awards.
Strongman has been nominated for Best Rapper category with hit song “Dear God” but the celebrated rapper says he does not have the Awards Night really in mind because of his incessant loss.
Speaking to Tony Best on Akoma Mmre on Akoma FM on Friday, the “Rap Is Still Alive” hit maker said he has more prominent issues to deal with it than concentrating on awards which continue to ignore him.
“This is the 6th time I have been nominated for the Best Rapper category and the 5th successive times but unfortunately turned to mirage, so I don’t need to pay much attention so that I won’t be disappointed.
“I always submit my works for scrutiny but I don’t get recognized hence I need to devote my time and attention to things that make me more relevant and always entertain my fans and lovers.
“For the past four years I have never posted my nomination on any social media platform edging my fans to vote for me because of previous experience. I am focusing on other things to make me happy,” Strongman stated.
Music fans will be thrilled to another music festival on June 1 at the AICC as the Premium Awards celebrate its 25 years.
