President John Dramani Mahama has commemorated the December 7, 2024 election victory with a renewed pledge to build a Ghana for all “without discrimination, without exclusion, without favouritism”.
He wrote on his official Instagram page on Sunday, December 7, sharing his profound gratitude to all and a renewed determination to the collective vision to ‘Build the Ghana We Want’.
“A year ago today, on 7 December, Ghana spoke with one powerful voice,” he opened his write-up.
“As I reflect on that historic day, I am filled with profound gratitude and renewed determination.”
He expressed gratitude to Ghanaians in general for believing in the promise of a ‘Resetting Ghana’ agenda.
“You trusted in our collective vision to ‘Build the Ghana We Want’.”
To the rank and file of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), President Mahama said: “You were the heartbeat of this victory.”
“To our polling agents who stood guard at every polling station, you were our eyes and ears, our ‘own referees’ as I called for.
“That clarion call to go to the polls with ‘our own referee’ was exactly what it needed to be.
“That was a strategy to demobilise the plans of the Electoral Commission and neutralise the ruling NPP’s calculated attempts to subvert the will of the people. Your vigilance turned the tide.”
He also thanked party executives across every level and branch, election management teams, operation teams, strategy teams, and the campaign teams.
“Your pre-election strategies laid the foundation for election-day tactics that proved unshakeable.
“You anticipated every move, countered every scheme, and ensured that the voice of the people could not be silenced.
“Today, I renew my pledge to every Ghanaian that we are building a Ghana for ALL our people, without discrimination, without exclusion, without favouritism. The Ghana We Want is not a dream deferred but a promise in progress.”
He promised to remain steadfast to the ‘Resetting Ghana’ agenda.
President Mahama also urged “my NDC family” to remain “tight” as he builds a Ghana “where your children will have opportunities, where justice prevails, and where hard work is rewarded”.
