The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has encouraged stronger collaboration between her Ministry and the Africa Arts Network as part of efforts to grow Ghana’s creative sector.
Speaking during a meeting with a delegation from the Network, the Minister commended the group for its passion and commitment to promoting Ghanaian arts and culture. She urged the delegation to formalise its proposals through written submissions to enable effective follow-up, particularly as the group prepares for a major theatre production scheduled for March 7 and 8, 2026.
Hon. Gomashie reaffirmed the Ministry’s openness to working closely with creative partners, noting that government is in the process of finalising modalities for the creative arts budget. She stressed that structured engagement would help align artistic initiatives with national cultural development priorities.
The delegation, led by Mr. Kofi Youngman, expressed gratitude to the Minister for her continued support and shared plans for large-scale productions aimed at showcasing Ghanaian creativity. Among them is the proposed “Black Star” performance to be staged at Independence Square.
The Minister encouraged the Network to sustain its momentum and continue projecting Ghana’s creative talent locally and internationally, assuring them of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the arts and creative economy.
