Ghana is set to receive a new fleet of Metro Mass Transit buses as part of government efforts to improve public transportation, Deputy Minister of Transport Dorcas Toffey has said.
Speaking during an inspection visit in Cairo, Egypt, the Jomoro MP said the buses would arrive in Ghana soon after meeting quality and safety checks. She noted that officials were satisfied with the condition of the vehicles and confirmed that about 300 buses are expected under the initiative.
According to Ms Toffey, the delivery forms part of President John Mahama’s transport agenda aimed at easing commuting challenges nationwide. She urged Ghanaians to prepare for improved Metro bus services in the coming months.
