Vice President Pro Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has called on students to embrace entrepreneurship, leadership, and academic excellence as critical tools for Ghana’s development. Speaking at the PENSA (Pentecost Students and Associates) Ghana conference, held simultaneously across five centres nationwide, she urged young people to turn ideas into solutions, research into impact, and skills into value.
Addressing thousands of attendees under the theme “Achieving Leadership and Academic Excellence,” Opoku-Agyemang stressed that leadership is earned and rooted in strong values. She highlighted that intellectual strain and uncertainty are opportunities to cultivate discipline, credibility, and character. Students were cautioned against academic dishonesty, with the Vice President noting that private actions often shape public behaviour.

She emphasised the role of women in leadership spaces, encouraging them to remain grounded, confident, and committed to the collective good, including the upliftment of vulnerable groups.
“The future is not something that begins after graduation; it is being created now,” Opoku-Agyemang said, adding that Ghana’s next phase of growth will demand initiative, creativity, responsibility, integrity, and service from all citizens.
The conference highlighted the active role of youth in shaping Ghana’s emerging social, economic, and political landscape.
