Ghana’s Vice President, Her Excellency Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, on Nov. 23, 2025 marked her birthday with donations to two public institutions, extending support to inmates at the Nsawam Prisons and patients at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital.
In a statement, Her Excellency Prof. Opoku-Agyemang said her Chief of Staff, Hon. Alex Segbefia, led a team to the Nsawam Prisons to present cash, bags of rice, sugar, cooking oil, sardines, water, soft drinks, and sanitary towels for female inmates. The items were received by Deputy Director of Prisons Patrick Thomas Seidu, who expressed appreciation for the gesture.

A separate delegation, organized by Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, delivered food items and a cooked meal to patients at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital. The donation included rice, sugar, tinned fish, tomatoes, water, and cash. Hospital officials, including Deputy Clinical Coordinator Dr. Peggy Asiedu Ekremet and Director of Administration of the Mental Health Authority Victus Kpesese, received the support on behalf of staff and patients.

Opoku-Agyemang thanked the public for the birthday messages and prayers, saying she remained grateful for the goodwill. She encouraged Ghanaians to continue showing compassion, especially to those facing difficult circumstances.
“We must continue to thank God for His mercies and remind others that they matter,” she said.
