Young Madrid FC defender Ignatius Bosompem has been pronounced dead at the Samartex Hospital after he was rushed there following a collision in their Division Two game against Naajo Royals FC in the Western Region.
The deceased player is reported to have collided midair with an opposing player but efforts to resuscitate him by emergency medical personnel proved futile.
He was then rushed to the Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sent a message of condolence not only to the bereaved family and the club but also to the Western Regional Football Association (WRFA).
“The Football Association has remained in close contact with WRFA leadership to provide the necessary support and assistance following the unfortunate incident,” the GFA said in a statement on Monday, November 24.
“The GFA urges the football community to keep the family and all affected in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult and painful time.”
