After her exit from the TV3 Mentor Reloaded reality show last Sunday, Frema Baby prayed and hoped for a miracle. Exactly a week after that, her prayer was answered! She made a triumphant return to the reality show. Her return also means that she stands the chance of winning the two-bedroom house up for grab. On a heated night that saw the contestants put in their best, the ten that started the show Sunday night all survival the dreaded evictions. Knowing that one or more of them could possibly be evicted, the ten contestants performed as if their lives depended on it. Sunday night’s show was themed the ‘Old Skuul Night’. The contestants performed some popular old school songs. Evance kicked off the performances for the night with ‘Kiss and Say Goodbye’ by the Manhattans. After that impressive performance, Adina noted that Evance has “done amazing job… everything was on point. It was amazing.” Edem said Evance has been evolving and he should know he is talented. Bessa Simons added that the song was not “a cheap” song to perform and he did “amazingly well.” The next to perform was Taabea. In her shinning outfit, she performed Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’. Her performance received mixed reactions from the judges. Yaw Black performed Bobby McFerrin’s ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy. He brought his own twist to the song as he delivered some of the verses in Twi and even incorporated the judges in his verse. Edem commended his confidence and ability to involve the crowd in his act. Bessa Simons commented that the performance “was so creative” while Adina said “it was fun, it was creative and very interactive.” Appietus on his part said Yaw Black ticked all the right boxes. Dufie was next. She performed Obuoba J. A. Adofo and the City Boys Band’s ‘Yaa Boatemaa’. All the judges were impressed with her performance. Sam Bryt performed Ben E. King’s ‘Stand by Me’. While the judges applauded his performance, they all thought he could have done better. Jedy got the unanimous approval from the judges with the performance of Londonbeat’s ‘I’ve Been Thinking About You’. All the judges said his performance was fun. Bennada did Diana Ross’ ‘I’m Coming Out’. She wowed the judges. They commended her for taking the risk to do the song. Chichiz’s performance of ‘Serwaa Akoto’ received mixed reviews from the judges. Consistently being the public’s favourite, Sunday’s night wasn’t his day. The judges urged him to up his game. Myka obviously was one of the biggest winner on the night. He won the hearts of many with his performance of New Edition’s ‘Cool It Now’. Edem said Myka’s outfit was probably the best on the night. He got the same reaction from the rest of the judges. Bessa Simons acknowledged his diction nothing that he has remained consistent throughout the show. But it was Optional King who brought the house down! His performance of Fela Kiri’s ‘Zoombie’ has some much energy and passion. He received a standing ovation from there of the judges. Edem said “tonight if there were to give someone the house, I would say it should be you…for me you are the best performer of the night.” The other judges agreed. Bessa Simons added that, “tonight your performance was international.” After the performances, hosts, Ken Addo and MzGee, invited Appietus on stage to present ‘Best Costume’ to Myka, ‘Viewers Choice Award’ to Myka and ‘Best Performer’ to Optional King. After the presentation, all the contestants were asked to go backstage with the exception of Chichiz, Yaw Black and Dufie. Just when they thought they were on their way out of the competition, Ken and MzGee asked them to go back stage indicating that they are still in the running for the two bedroom house. As announced earlier, the general public was given the opportunity to vote one of the evicted contestants back into the show. Evictee Frema Baby made a triumphant return to the show with Chaka Khan’s ‘Ain’t Nobody’. The judges encouraged Frema Baby to work extra hard as she is making a return to the show. They also urged the public to vote for their favourite contestants. Source: 3news.com]]>
