After seven weeks of competition, exhibition of vocal prowess and showmanship on TV3’s ‘Mentor Reloaded’ stage, the real action has begun, and reality is creeping in for contestants as eviction blues come beckoning.

For the past weeks, all 16 contestants competing for the enviable two-bedroom house have had a smooth ride without any eviction, but the honeymoon period came to an end on Sunday, January 12, when three of the contestants were evicted .

Unfortunately for Aemma, Kobi Kobbs and Kweku Darlington, their dream of sailing through the competition and emerging winners could not materialize as they failed to amass enough votes and judges’ score, leaving them at the mercy of eviction.

With a bottom five to choose from, judges decided to save rapper Chichiz and Missy, leaving the rest to go home and out of the competition.

However, one out of the three stands a chance of making it back when voting lines are opened for a ‘recall’ later in the competition.

Sunday night’s performance was R&B and Soul music-inspired, and each of the contestants came on with their A-game although this could not save the three evictees.

Evance, who opened the show, performed ‘Hello’ by Lionel Richie.

EVANCE

One of Michael Bubles’s old classics was performed by Taabea.

BENNADA

Alicia Keys’s ‘No One’ was given a different twist by Kweku Darlington as he roped in some rap lines mixed with the original song.

KWEKU DARLINGTON

Myka came on stage looking like a reincarnated Michael Jackson as he dressed to suit his performance of the late singer’s song ‘Human Nature’.

MYKA

Kobi Kobbs came through performing ‘Stuck On You’ by Lionel Richie.

KOBI KOBBS

Celine Dion’s ‘When I Need You’ was beautifully performed by Missy.

MISSY

The Fante rapper himself, Chichiz, was at it again as he showed up on stage like a school boy, performing his own rendition of Beyonce’s ‘Halo’ which he called ‘Education’.

CHICHIZ

Dufie performed ‘911’ by  Wyclef Jean and Mary J. Blige.

DUFIE

Neyo’s ‘Miss Independent’ was performed by Sam Bryt.

SAM BRYT

Aemma gave a spectacular performance although she was not well as she wowed the audience singing ‘I Choose You’ by Mario.

AEMMA

The last contestant to perform, Eli, did not disappoint as he did Percy Sledge’s ‘When A Man Loves A Woman’ giving Sunday night’s performances an exciting wrap.

ELI

At the end of the performances, rapper Chichiz was adjudged ‘Best Performer’ for the night.

Myka won the ‘Viewers Choice’ award for the night while Frema Baby won the ‘Best Costume’ award.

Mentor Reloaded airs on TV3 every Sunday at 8:00 pm, and is also live on all social media platforms of the station.

Viewers have the opportunity to vote for their favourite contestant via the Mentor App on Google Play Store or the Apple Store. Voting can also be done through the short code *713*19#.
