Former Minister of Finance Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta has been released from detention by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“He is home with his family,” Mr Ofori-Atta’s lawyers said in a press release dated Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The former Finance Minister was released, according to the press release, pursuant to judicial order.
“Mr Ofori-Atta remains fully committed to use due process in defense of his rights as guaranteed under the constitution and the laws of the United States.”
The press release issued by Minkah-Premo, Osei-Bonsu, Bruce-Cathline & Partners said Mr Ofori-Atta and his family “remain thankful to God and all those who have offered prayers and support during this period”.
