National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Madina Francis-Xavier Sosu has given a damning verdict on the political future of former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The lawyer and lawmaker says based on the kind of economy experienced under the watch of Dr Bawumia as the Chairman of the Economic Management Committee, he can never be President.
“[Dr] Bawumia will never become the President of the Republic of Ghana because there is enough evidence in this country that as the Vice President and the man in charge of the Economic Management Committee of Ghana, they failed.
“So, having failed who, as a private investor, will consider someone who has failed in his work. Who will give that person a new job?” he wondered.
The Madina MP made these remarks on the sidelines of the handing over ceremony of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) on Friday, September 18.
He insisted that no serious group of people will turn to such an individual with that kind of track record to hand over affairs to.
Mr Sosu, who recently graduated with a PhD in law, had a personal message for the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the NPP.
“[Dr] Bawumia, with all due respect, you have been a Vice President, God bless you. But to become a President, it won’t happen because you have already demonstrated that you can do the work.”
