A Personal Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), Sammy Gyamfi, Annan Arhin Perry, has thrown his support behind Basiera Saankara as a potential successor to the outgoing National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), George Opare Addo, popularly known as Pablo.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, October 20, Mr Perry argued that Mr Saankara’s years of service within the party had equipped him with the experience and organisational skills needed to lead the NDC’s youth wing.
He cited Mr Saankara’s record in the party, including his position as Upper West Regional Youth Organiser, a position he has held since 2022.
Mr Saankara previously served as Deputy Regional Organiser from 2018 to 2022 and Wa West Constituency Youth Organiser from 2009 to 2018.
He also held the position of Constituency Deputy Organiser from 2006 to 2009.
Mr Perry said the candidate’s experience at constituency and regional levels demonstrated his understanding of the party’s grassroots structures and youth mobilisation.
“BASIERA SAANKARA has the political experience to succeed Pablo,” he wrote.
Describing Mr Saankara as a committed grassroots politician and mobiliser, Mr Perry added: “He doesn’t need to be pushed because he is the pusher.”
