The ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival, once again solidified its place as Ghana’s premier gastronomic tourism event, drawing an astonishing crowd of over 30,000 on Saturday, March 29, and Sunday, March 30, 2025.

Hosted by Channel One TV, with support from Citi FM, the two-day festival, transformed the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (A.M.A.) into a bustling hub of culinary excellence, cultural vibrancy, and festive entertainment.

A WEEKEND OF FLAVORS AND CULTURE

From sizzling street food to traditional gourmet dishes, the festival showcased an impressive variety of authentic Ghanaian cuisines, giving patrons a rare chance to savor flavors from across the country.

Enthusiastic vendors served up everything from hot waakye with all the trimmings to rich bowls of fufu with aromatic soups, grilled tilapia with banku, and decadent local desserts.

The event wasn’t just about food—it was a full-blown cultural experience, celebrating Ghana’s rich heritage through taste and tradition.

AN ELECTRIFYING ATMOSPHERE

Live music, energetic drumming, and cultural performances kept the crowd engaged throughout the festival. The atmosphere was electrifying as thousands reveled in the fusion of great food and exhilarating entertainment.

Traditional dance groups and live bands took turns thrilling the audience, creating an immersive experience of Ghanaian culture.

Traditional music lovers at the Back to Your Village Food Festival were also treated to mesmerizing performances by the notable and renowned Kwan Pa Band and the Adaha Dance Band whose music brought an authentic cultural essence to the event.

There were also some amazing performances by Dromo Naa, Just Groove Band, Edzordzinam Fafali Borborbor, and the National Dance Ensemble.

RAIN COULDN’T DAMPEN THE SPIRIT

Sunday night’s high-energy musical session was unfortunately cut short due to a brief but intense downpour.

However, the rain did little to dampen the spirits of festival-goers, who had already indulged in two days of unforgettable culinary and entertainment experiences.

The overwhelming turnout and enthusiastic participation reaffirmed the festival’s reputation as a must-attend event on Ghana’s entertainment calendar.

WHAT’S NEXT?

With such a resounding success, anticipation is already building for the next edition. If this year’s record-breaking attendance is anything to go by, the ‘Back to Your Village’ Food Festival is only going to get bigger and better.

Whether you missed out or can’t wait for more, stay tuned to Citi FM and Channel One TV for the latest updates on future editions.

One thing is certain—when it comes to celebrating Ghanaian food and culture, this festival reigns supreme!
