Former Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly targeting Alejandro Garnacho.

Garnacho has caught the eye of the Special One, who is looking to build on his second-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig last season.

Mourinho’s Fenerbahce show interest in Garnacho

Having secured a loan deal for erstwhile Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, the Turkish giants are considering a €45 million bid for the 21-year-old to bolster their attack.

The Argentine featured in 58 games across all competitions. He scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists, according to Transfermarkt.

Fenerbahce believe Mourinho’s name could help sway the Argentine toward Istanbul. They want to bolster their attack, and Garnacho is high on their list.

But Mourinho’s Yellow Canaries will receive stiff competition with a myriad of clubs chasing the signature of Garnacho.

Garnacho prefers Chelsea despite interest from other clubs

Italian Serie A champions Napoli, Birmingham-based Aston Villa, and North London outfit Tottenham are also interested. However, it is Chelsea that appears to be in the lead in the race due to the player’s preference.

According to transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is now his preferred destination. Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League rather than head abroad, rendering a move to join Mourinho in Istanbul almost impossible.

He is “keen” on joining the FIFA Club World Cup winners this summer. Reports indicate that the Blues could submit a formal offer before the month ends.

He didn’t travel with United for their pre-season tour in the U.S, where the Red Devils won two games and drew once in the Premier League Summer Series. With the 2025/26 Premier League season just days away, the clock is ticking.

Garnacho, once a prodigy at Atletico Madrid, is reportedly keen on a move to London. He wants a fresh start.

The 21-year-old has reportedly been listed among United’s “bomb squad”, players no longer part of Erik ten Hag’s plans. That means a summer exit looks almost inevitable.
