Two girls have been confirmed dead after a bizarre fire razed their home at Borban, a community in the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti region.
The fire which gutted the four-bedroom house was reported around 7:30 Friday evening, and was doused more than two hours later.
Mother of the girls managed to escape with her 9-month old baby before the fire intensified.

Eyewitnesses say they heard the mother of the deceased shouting for help as the fire consumed the property and her two daughters before it was brought under control around 9pm.
The deceased, 6-year old Rakia and 8-year old Yumma who were trapped in one of the rooms were also heard pleading to be rescued.
Despite attempts by onlookers to rescue the girls, they couldn’t salvage the situation.
Unfortunately, the fire service personnel got to the scene after the fire had consumed the girls.
Mother of the deceased children and neighbours could not control their tears following the incident.
The bodies of the girls have been deposited at the Manhyia Government Hospital Morgue.
Fire Service personnel have commenced investigations to ascertain the cause of the fatal fire.
