[Videos] Adentan youth on rampage as WASS student killed on highway

Youth of Adentan have mounted a blockade on the Madina highway following the killing of a lady said to be a student of West Africa Senior High School Thursday afternoon.

They burnt tyres and threatened motorists as they expressed anger over the carnage on the highway.

The killing of the lady on Thursday brought the situation to a head triggering the action of the youth, who had planned a vigil for Friday.

They had also planned a peace walk for Monday, November 12.

Eye witnesses say the youth were undaunted by the presence of police and fire officers, who rushed to the scene to enforce calm.

Deaths on the Madina-Adentan highway have been on the ascendancy with residents blaming the situation on lack of footbridges.

Since the start of 2018, about 200 people have been killed on the highway with six killed just within six days.

Government has indicated that budget allocation has been made for the resumption of work on the highway in 2019.
