The spiritualist at the forefront of the lynching of 90-year-old Akua Denteh has been arrested at Yeji in the Bono East Region. She was arrested by police at Makango. Police from the Salaga Divisional Police Command have been dispatched to go and bring her. The spiritualist was invited by the Chief of Kafaba after the youth petitioned him to go for one over claims that their progress has been retarded. Fifty (50) per cent of Ghanaians surveyed in the Ghana Election Poll showed no confidence in the country’s electoral system with the view that the 2020 elections could be rigged. However, 30% did not think so and the remaining 20% were not sure if the elections could be rigged. The Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS) will today, Tuesday, August 4, announce the ruling on the case between Wilfred Osei Palmer and Ghana Football Association (GFA). Palmer was disqualified from the GFA Presidential race based on the fact that he did not pay 10 per cent of Joseph Paintsil’s transfer fee to Belgian side Genk. The CAF Emergency Committee has approved the updated calendar for the inter-club competitions. Due to the novel coronavirus, the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup semi-finals were postponed in March. Since football has returned around the globe, CAF have released the dates for the semi-finals of its club competitions with all matches to be played behind closed doors.
