Several workers have been injured with some in critical condition after a storey building under construction at Roman Ridge collapsed. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon. According to eye witnesses, about 14 workers were on site when it occurred. The workers were trapped under the rubble for hours before officers of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived to rescue them all. They were sent to the 37 Military and Greater Accra Regional hospitals for medical care. President John Dramani Mahama has announced that Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, will be given a “full” state burial. Though a funeral date is yet to be announced, President Mahama said the widow of late President Jerry John Rawlings will be given an appropriate send-off. Former Chief Executive (DCE) for North Tongu Osborne K. Divine Fenu has lost his life following a motor accident on the Accra-Aflao road. According to sources, Divine Fenu died on the spot, near the Central University College, Miotso. He is said to be returning to Accra from a visit to the Volta Region.
