About 130 nurses are leaving Accra for Saint John’s to serve in various health facilities in Antigua and Barbuda. The nurses have been trained in the area of midwifery, mental health and general health. The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed media reports that 60 percent of applicants for recruitment tested positive for HIV/AIDS. This according to the reports was obtained from the medical screening done as part of the process.
