The sights at NPP’s 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference continue to overwhelm beholders at the Koforidua Technical University Park. One man who claims to be the bishop of the party is Bishop Nana Addo. Boldly engrossed on his mitre, Bishop Nana Addo’s name is obviously coined from the three-time leader of the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. He holds a trademark crosier as part of his full regalia. Source: 3news.com|Ghana Follow @3Newsgh
The last may not have been seen of Acting National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Freddie Blay as regards goodies for delegates. Just before voting at the Koforidua Technical University Park, delegates were feted with customised medium-sized boxes containing biscuits from the former Convention People’s Party (CPP) Member of Parliament. On the boxes is an image of a bus with the inscription ‘One Constituency, One Bus’, clearly in allusion to his provision of buses to the 275 constituency branches of the party. Others also had fans in addition to the biscuits. Already, some opponents of Mr Blay, who…
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has reiterated his oft-held conviction that four years is not enough for a full term government under Ghana’s current constitution. This, he stresses, cannot afford a government in power the opportunity to do anything significant. But, he points out, after just one-and-a-half years in office, the Nana Akufo-Addo-led government has performed creditably, making the country attractive not only to Ghanaians but foreigners. He says that is the reason behind the many invitations President Nana Akufo-Addo is given by foreign leaders. The former President made these observations on Saturday while addressing delegates at the 26th National…
There were no representatives from the country’s leading opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), at the 26th National Delegates’ Conference of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). No reasons were immediately adduced for the absence of NPP’s arch-rivals. As has been a custom with political congresses in Ghana, opposition parties are invited to deliver solidarity messages. At NPP’s 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference held at the Koforidua Technical University (KTU), some opposition political parties namely People’s National Convention (PNC), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), National Democratic Party (NDP), Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) were…
Known member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Hajia Fati has told journalists covering the 2018 Annual National Delegates’ Conference that she will not grant any interviews to them. She said members of the media fraternity have accused her of planning to kill them; hence, her decision. She snubbed all attempts by journalists to get a word or two from her as she arrived at the Koforidua Technical University Park for the Conference. Hajia Fati, who is frequently spotted at the NPP headquarters in Accra, came under a barrage of criticism for slapping a reporter from Adom FM. She had…
