Six applicants have been confirmed dead while several others are injured following a stampede Wednesday morning ahead of the physical screening exercise into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). The potential recruits are said to have rushed into the gates of the El Wak Sports Stadium, where the screening was scheduled to be conducted. The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have jointly conducted an operation across three regions to fish out perpetrators of heinous crimes against security officers and journalists. The operation, which started on Wednesday dawn, is aimed at arresting identified persons, a statement from GAF said. The family of Samuel Aboagye, one of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter clash, have sued widow Abigail Salami over failure to make their child available for a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test.
