Ghana our Motherland once had all that was required to move in the direction and path to uncovering the great Industrialization goal. With the government changing and with a period of military rule, some of these industries folded up, driving the Industrialization path further away. Within this fourth Republic, President Kuffour revived some industries and established new ones that renewed the path to Industrialization. Evident through Metro Mass Transit, Vodafone among others. Going forward, it was thus expected that the Industrialization agenda would deepen. However, such expectations were trashed under subsequent regimes. Existing industries slowed to a halt with many companies…

Former President John Dramani Mahama has disclosed that his decision to vie for the presidency again did not come easily. He said he did not jump into taking that decision. “In all honesty, I didn’t take the decision to run for a second term as President neither easily, nor quickly. I didn’t jump into it,” he noted. “I did it out of a sense of urgency, after I began to contemplate more and more thoroughly about our vulnerabilities as a nation.” He said these on Sunday, September 6 in an address ahead of his party’s manifesto launch on Monday. The…
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has descended heavily on the immediate past president, John Dramani Mahama, for recent ethnocentric statements attributed to him. The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is said to have shared an article written by Bolgatanga Central Member of Parliament (MP) Isaac Adongo and insinuated that Akyems are ‘Sakawa Boys’. In shared post on his Facebook page, former president Mahama also wrote: “Grandpa must go”. This has incensed some Ghanaians including the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who wondered why the clergy and senior citizens have not called the former president to order. “What can…
My political journey is not born out of crave for personal recognition or gain but chartered by a compelling sense of service to humanity, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, National Democratic Party (NDP) Flagbearer, said on Saturday. Mali’s ex-President Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta, who was ousted in a coup last month, has left the country. Mr Keïta, 75, has flown to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for medical treatment after suffering from a minor stroke, military officials said. The junta is currently in talks with opposition and civil society groups about a transition to civilian rule. It says it will step down in two years, but West African leaders want a quicker transfer of power. Mr Keïta was overthrown on 18 August following mass protests against his rule over corruption, the mismanagement of the economy and a dispute…
