Members of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and its allied bodies have resolved not to withdraw their services for at least the next two years. Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has commissioned a training institute for staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES), at Saltpond in the Mfantseman Municipal of the Central Region. Conceived by the Kufuor administration, the institute stared to be constructed in 2011 but was abandoned in 2012 by the previous administration due to lack of funds. The chiefs and people of Kandin in the Tatale-Sanguli District of the Northern Region are appealing to the government to supply the Kandin Health Center with an anti-snake syrum. According to them, the non-availability of the vaccine is making the treatment of snake bites a big challenge leading to many of them dying from the situation. Kandin is a farming community with over 90 percent of the people being farmers. A majority of the farm produce that enters the Yendi, Tamale and Techiman markets come from this area. Confederation of African Football (Caf) president Ahmad has been found to have breached various codes of ethics, BBC Sport Africa understands. On Wednesday, the Fifa vice-president from Madagascar announced his intention to go for a second term in office when Caf elections take place next March.
