Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has accused the Akufo-Addo-led government of “borrowing for consumption”. He said despite borrowing more than three times than he did while in office between 2012 ad 2017, there is nothing to show for the current development. “They borrowed three times more than I did in my time and if you ask what was done with about $54 billion that was borrowed, I mean you can see examples of it all over the place,” he said in an interview on TV XYZ on Sunday, August 23 at the end of his…
The representatives of the Ashanti Region and the Bono East Region are the latest evictees of this year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful. They were evicted on Sunday after the cross-cultural session. Ashanti Region’s Achiaa on the night represented the Volta Region while Asaa, who originally represents the Bono East Region, appeared on stage to educate the audience and viewers about the Upper East Region. Their performances put them bottom on the log with the Volta Region rep just above them. Facing eviction too, Kafui was saved by the two female judges – Michelle Attoh and Linda Ampah. But the night was…
Kingsley Coman’s 59th minute header was the difference as Bayern Munich clinched their sixth European title on Sunday. It was in the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League final against Paris St-Germain in Lisbon, Portugal. After a goalless first half, pressure from the Germans paid off as Joshua Kimmich’s cross was headed home by Coman after 14 minutes of play. Paris St-Germain’s forwards including Kylian Mbappe came close to drawing level but Manuel Neuer stood between them and the Bayern goal. The win makes Bayern the first side to win all matches on the road to winning the European title. Coman’s goal…

He had previously promised to step down, but changed his mind after the unexpected death of the prime minister in July. Source: BBC
Manifesto, which is a document detailing the policies and intentions of political parties or similar entities should they win the mandate of the people to govern, has been used by parties during election years. In many cases, political parties in Ghana have not lived up to expectations generally as far as their manifestos are concerned. Research has shown that, leaders and politicians sometimes fail to deliver even 50% of the contents in these documents. The inability of the electorate to put their leaders to strict check on effective manifesto delivery is partly due to the technicalities and the language involved…

Former President John Dramani Mahama has given a stern notice that his government will investigate the botched deal between government and Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana Limited. “We will investigate PDS,” he stated. Mr Mahama made this known in an interview on TV XYZ on Sunday, August 23 from the Gateway Hotel in Nkwanta in the Oti Region.
