The Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) is urging Ghanaians to be patient with the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government on the retrieval of the GH¢51.2 million judgement debt wrongfully paid to embattled businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome by the state. The new management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has with immediate effect withdrawn the appointment of staff employed in the final months of the Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte. “The decision has been informed by a thorough consideration of violations of due process prior to the recruitment,” a statement released by the recently appointed Executive Director, Mustapha Ussif, said. ActionAid Ghana has bemoaned the 20 per cent representation of women in the appointments of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo so far. After nominating 36 persons for ministerial appointments and an additional 10 to head Ghana’s regions, only nine are women. The Teshie District Police have arrested two young men who have robbed MTN shop attendant of over GH¢6,000 on Monday. The two Daniel Osei and Elvis Omane reportedly attacked the shop attendant at gun point, robbing her of the money as well as other valuables.
