Pupils at Banda Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo Region will have to wait for another week before teachers can return to class for teaching and learning activities. Ghanaian center official Joseph Odartei Lamptey has been handed a life ban by the world governing body of football, Fifa. Lamptey was banned “due to match manipulation”. The Bank of Ghana has expressed happiness about the performance of the latest legal tender released onto the market. Mali’s Football Association (FEMAFOOT) has been suspended by Fifa until further notice over government interference in football matters. Fifa acted after Mali Sports Minister Housseïni Amion Guindo dissolved the executive committee of FEMAFOOT. Guindo has also appointed a provisional committee mandated to run FEMAFOOT and set up elections within 12 months.
