The Technical University Teachers’ Association of Ghana (TUTAG) has called off its strike after weeks of laying down tools to press home demands for improved condition of service. The decision to call off the strike follows a meeting convened by the National Labour Commission which was attended by the leadership of TUTAG, the Minister of State in charge of Tertiary Education, Professor Kwesi Yankah, Deputy Employment and Labour National Relations Minister, Dr. Charles Wireko Brobbey and other stakeholders. A section of the Accra-Tema Motorway was flooded Monday afternoon after a downpour in Accra, leaving motorists stranded for hours. Water from a bridge which crosses the road at a section of the 19 kilometre stretch was said to have overflown its bank causing that part of the road to flood. Amateur videos showed plastic and other solid waste floating in the flooded water. A district court in Accra has rejected a request for psychiatric evaluation of Eric Kojo Duah, one of the suspects who allegedly murdered two police officers at Kasoa in the Central Region.
