Former Black Stars player Charles Taylor has criticized Black Stars goalkeeper trainer Fatau Dauda over the perceived poor treatment of former West Ham United goalkeeper Joseph Anang. Taylor accused Dauda of placing Anang on the Black Stars’ standby list without giving him an opportunity when a spot became available. Speaking on Angel TV, he acknowledged Hearts of Oak’s Benjamin Asare’s call-up but argued that Anang’s continued exclusion suggests the technical team does not prioritize young talent. “After seeing the three goalkeepers, I think Fatau Dauda should resign. Football has changed. Teams prioritize quality over names. I advocated for Benjamin Asare…
Budding Ghanaian singer, Yaw Darling, remains undeterred by his exclusion from the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nominations, stating that his ultimate goal is to win a Grammy. While acknowledging the importance of TGMA, he insists that missing out on a nomination does not define his career trajectory. “I acknowledge TGMA is a big platform, my godfather Andy Dosty is part of the team. I always focus on long-term goals. The fact that I didn’t get nominations at the TGMA doesn’t mean I cannot win Grammys. It’s a matter of time. If you’re born to kill an elephant, you’ll…

As the 2025 TGMAs draw closer, concerns have been raised about King Paluta’s 2024 hit “Makoma” being missing from the nominations list. Many stakeholders have speculated that the song was excluded due to profane lyrics, similar to…

However, the…
Prof. Petr Quartey of the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, (ISSER), has urged the government to revisit its decision to bear the fees of first-year students in public universities. He acknowledged that while the decision is in fulfilment of a campaign promise made by the present administration, it may not be the most pressing challenge facing Ghana’s education. The government is allocating GHȼ499,915 to fulfil the key campaign promise, but Prof. Quartey says the decision requires a review. “What about students in private universities?” he asked. “Many of such private university students are from less privileged homes but…
By Innocent Appiah Damongo MP, Samuel Abu Jinapor, formerly in charge of Lands and Natural Resources, is under scrutiny for his double standards on environmental degradation. While serving as Minister, Jinapor presided over a period marred by widespread illegal mining that ravaged Ghana’s water bodies and forests. Now, he finds himself at the center of controversy for conveniently ignoring his role in the crisis and vocalizing concerns about environmental issues. During his tenure, Jinapor sanctioned the enactment of Executive Instrument EI 144, allowing mining in forest reserves and enabling reckless exploitation of natural resources. The aftermath? A devastated ecosystem with…

Yesterday The Superior Court of New Jersey is reported to have awarded investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas $18 million in damages in a defamation lawsuit that was brought against a former NPP Presidential aspirant and Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong, and one other. Meanwhile, a similar suit by Anas is reported to have been brought against the same person in Ghana, was dismissed by the Ghanaian High Court. While not having any opinion on the two cases, I am strengthened to call for a thorough legal and forensic audits and investigations into some of the rulings, orders, and judgements given…
