Over thirty students from Sawla Senior High School in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region have been suspended indefinitely. The majority of those suspended are girls, and they are accused of bringing mobile phones to school, in violation of the Ghana Education Service (GES) rules and regulations. Sources within the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Directorate of GES indicate that the suspended students are also involved in various immoral activities while at school. The National Security has said it has made a huge bust, seizing a large, unspecified amount of US dollars and Ghana cedis, including counterfeits, hidden in twelve 20ft shipping containers. The containers, according to National Security were tracked to a warehouse around Sapeiman in the Ga West Municipality in Greater Accra, where a special late-night operation was conducted on Saturday following a tip-off.
