The youth of Akomadan and neighbouring villages in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti region are said to be engaging in massive abuse of a pain reliever called Tramadol. The drug, popularly known among users as ‘Tramol’, is used for treating moderate to severe pain. Two suspected armed robbers shot and killed an unarmed police officer when he and his colleague attempted to foil their robbery operations at Lapaz near Las Pamas restaurant in Accra. The government of Ghana has signed a memorandum of understanding with Sinohydro Corporation Limited for the execution of a number of key projects across the country. Drivers and commuters plying the Bolga-Bawku road which is under construction are not happy with the state of the road, which they have been compelled to endure.
